Montegrappa Heartwood

Ohh man this pen has my jimmies rustled! I'm not sure if I'll be able to resist this one! The Fortuna nib has not exactly been my favorite but maybe the 3rd time is a charm? Price looks to come in at $300usd shipped from Europe. I've only seen it listed there so far. That seems somewhat reasonable I guess. Maybe as stock is more available prices may come down to the $280 range or so. I'm impressed so far! Looks like a winner.

Montegrappa has always done wood well. Here is my Brier & Sterling Symphony.

That looks great Jim! I'm about 90% on picking up a heartwood in teak. One good day trade and it's happening. Could have been today but I missed it by one minute I fired up my Fortunas today. That nib just doesn't agree with me stock. It's either too smooth or too gritty at the same time. I'm assuming the factory tune is to polish it to the point of baby's bottom. Both the Napoli and Marrakech have the same issues. Not impossible to fix but I predict doing some work on the heartwood as well. Doesn't matter though because that wood is hot sauce!
