How long until new acquisitions become "Just part of the rotation"?

I'm not a flipper of watches but have a small, modest collection. I usually rotate through a few of them over the course of the week but having recently picked up a lovely 16710 the rest have stayed in the box. I'm sure I'll get back to the rotation eventually but I'm curious if anyone else around here has experienced the same when adding to their collection.

When I was in lower tier watches i would wear the watch for a week. Now, I've been wearing my new dj for about 3 weeks and plan to exclusively wear it for a total of a month before i put it into rotation. I think it's nice to wear a new watch exclusively for a period of time after purchase. You get to really enjoy your purchase and miss your other watches

Usually 1 month, sometimes 2 if it really captivates me.

Depends on the watch. Couple weeks give or take. I keep a small rotation though.

Depends on my mood.
Rarely wear same one two days in a row, even if on vacation.
If I bought, it was because I loved it, will keep it and will wear it.
I guess I treat my watches like my wife and my job. I have worked for the same company for 35 years and have been married to the same woman for equally as long.
I go all in. Have never flipped a watch or grown to dislike a purchase.

Obviously when newly acquired it is common to give all of one's attention to the new watch. I've found that I don't have the attention span to keep a large collection in constant rotation. I currently only have 4 watches that I wear with any regularity and I often switch the watch I'm wearing after work.

I think it's uncouth to wear the same watch for more than one week consecutively.

About 3 months for me, but I'll cheat with a few old flames in the meantime.

Only said on a watch forum.

They're not like underpants.

Curious to know from folks that wait, given the expense to acquire many of the watches we discuss on this forum coupled with the unknown factor of how long our personal ticker has been wound (pun inteded as reference is to life), why wait?
It's like my 81 year old dad's closet with clothing he has yet to wear, with tags still on them. Why? Same with my now deceased mom, who never got to wear hers and never will.
Life is short. You worked hard for that watch. Wear it!!!
