I have a stainless black ceramic Daytona and white stainless from ~2010.

I got lucky in that I didn't really have to do much other than pay for both but I am interested in what the current bar is to get an allocation.

If you got on the list early and have previous purchase history with the AD the chances are that you have one already. So I think it's a combination of getting on the list early, having a history with the AD, and being a VIP (big spender). I was first on the list at one AD and foolishly did not cultivate multiple options...They lost their AD status before seeing a single Daytona. So I had to come late to the party on the waitlist at another AD. I purchase several watches a year from my main AD now but I am still 4th on the list because I joined late. Hoping for a Daytona by the end of 2017.

I had to give mine at least 10%, I didn't have to buy anything else. They kind of laughed at me when i asked them if I had to buy a PM model from them to get on the list. I told them there were really ADs requiring such lunacy. Granted....I don't have it yet!

My AD told me if I bought any precious metal Rolex I could buy a SS Daytona that day. I guess they're holding some out. I'm not in the kind of position to be buying a PM and a Daytona at the moment...

I need to look for another AD, Went in early to put my name down, and they said the would do down this list. Followed up with them, and then they said they put all VIP at the top of the list, and given priority. Looking to purchase a BLNR, so looking to build a relationship with another dealer.

I just wrote a nice, honest recommendation about the AD to Rolex HQ (at the AD's request) about how helpful they all were in making my decision and working with my wife to get her her watch last year. Best 10 minutes I ever spent...got the Daytona about a month later and couldn't be happier with it.

My nearest AD has a policy that you cannot go on a wait list unless you are previous customer. There is no monetary amount that has to be spent. It appears they just want you in their system. I purchased a 116610LV from them. I haven't asked to be placed on any lists yet.

Did not have to purchase anything but placed a $1,000 refundable deposit for a White dial - #4 on the list. AD recently told me three White dials have come in, so hoping next one is mine. (they received 1 - Black dial beginning of April - sold of course)

6 months after placing my deposit, I bought my BLNR from them.
