Many good replies. I also live in the region and can confirm you'll have no problem wearing your TT datejust. I had this very conversation with a Qatari work colleague who is a committed WIS and whilst he likes the look of yellow gold he would not wear it due to the cultural/religious reasons mentioned above and so he tends to go for steel pieces. However, most GCC countries are a cosmopolitan mix and you'll see lots of yellow gold with other nationalities.
