Finally found a IWC Ingenieur I like!
I have always wanted an Inge and finally found one that is the nbest for me IMHO. Tried on the whole line up of Inges at the IWC boutique. The large inge, well was too top heavy and the leather strap to thin. Plus no integrated shock protection. The 42mm SS inge, again to heavy, and even with bracelet adjusted just did not sit well on wrist for me. The Titanium AMG inge, I really liked, but since I do not have a Mercedes, to me would be weird wearing a watch that says Mercedes on the back. The Inge chrono just did not do it either.
But with the Ceramic Inge, the 44 size and case thickness is perfect. As is the inhouse pellaton winding caliber with integrated shock protection. And, I do not need anti-magnetic protection, so better to be able to see the movement through the case back. Such a nicely finished and intersting movement to look at! Strap is very comfortable and rugged. I can swim or run or trek with it on. Legibility of the dial seems great, but I would prefer a little more lum, but that is minor. Maybe will buy this next week! Copy below the picture is hard to read, but here is the copy: Ingenieur Automatic Ref 3234: Achilles' weak spot was his downfall. This watch doesn't have one. Its rugged case with scratchproof ceramic bezels front and back is impervious to heat and cold. And the sensitive mechanism of the IWC-manufactured movement with its Pellaton winding mechanism is protected by the shock absorption system against even the severest impacts. P.S. We are not planing to make a model for the ankle. IWC. Engineered for Men. |

Going well, You can see my long post in Open Forum section in the other forum you are a member of.
Was in Chiang Mai for several weeks, then went to Laos to do a very short project and survey concering UXO, now back in Bangkok and going to just hand out here and PT for around 2 months to get ready to do some trekking. Will either go to Malaysia or Nepal I think, but that is undecided. |

It's a beautiful watch that for some reason quickly plummeted on the pre-owned market. I've seen several go for under $4500, which is incredible for a watch this nice.

nice watch, but its achilles heel might be its crown which appears to be quite exposed and 'out there'.

I sure like the looks of that watch. I love the ceramic bezel on my Rolex. I think ceramic is a fabulous material that will have many positive uses on watches in the future. Hopefully they will become even more rugged.
Beautiful watch. If you get it I would love to see the photos. Terry Newton
