Not so far, closest will be a DD2 for a DD40 but different metals too probably.

Got my first Submariner 14060 for my 21st birthday, 42 years ago, sold it when my business was going belly-up, I was broke and it paid the mortgage for a couple of months, giving me a breathing space to save the business and my marriage, my lovely wife bought me a new 16610 for my 45th birthday which I sold some years later after suffering from tendonitis which made it very uncomfortable to wear, I muddled along for a few years with a nondescript pilots watch, until a year ago, when I bought a new 2014 39mm Explorer on impulse.
This is the bit I am most ashamed of, I had always liked the look of the 36mm Explorer, I loved the new size and improvements to the strap, but it wasn't instantly recognisable as a Rolex and when a friend asked me if it was a Seiko, it lost its shine for me and went back in the box hardly to be worn again, how shallow can you get? Anyway, I found someone who wanted a 39mm Explorer and was selling a 2009 Submariner 14060M, it was meant to be, we were both suffering the pain of selling a Rolex on Ebay, it was easy to do a trade and we were both very happy with our deal. So I am back where I started 42 years ago, I can't guarantee I will never sell this watch, one saved my bacon once, so you never know... |

The clock is still ticking on that. I sold a Black Bay Blue to help finance my Explorer. I now have the black Bay Black on my radar for a future purchase.

I'm a bit fickle with many pieces, but never flipped to reacquire the identical watch. I have flipped a lot of watches and acquired something similar, but not identical, instantly (I.e. a 16750 went in April, a 1675 went out the door in November, and I picked up a 16700 three days later). Something about the Pepsi GMTs get me. My lady thought all three looked identical and didn't understand my incessant flipping. 😂
I've flipped a vintage DJ and bought a modern one, and nearly immediately decided neither was for me, and sold the modern one days after arrival. I occasionally flirt with the idea getting a second Pelagos to replace the one I sold. There are others, however, such as a blue Tudor snowflake, a black Tudor sub, a BBR, a 39mm explorer I, and others, I have flipped and never looked back on. Just depends on the piece - sometimes I move on, sometimes have seller's remorse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the comments. To add a little context I flipped a blnr for a white Daytona sometime in September. No regrets whatsoever, but the blnr has been calling a little bit lately and I was thinking of getting it as a birth year watch for the incoming son.
As of this morning, I'll have to wait a couple months. I just learned this morning that the construction work on my backyard (drainage stuff in preparation for el niño) and a few minor improvements in the house will go over budget. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk |

My first ever was a 14060 and it soon got flipped for a 16610 cos I thought I needed the date. I never was able to recover from the loss and bought another no-date within a year

Since I started collecting back in the mid-80's I have sold a '37 Hamilton Coronado, a '75 Pulsar LED Big Time, a '45 Rolex California-dial Bubbleback, a '62 Rolex Roulette Datejust, a '57 Rolex Sunken Dial Bombe Datejust, a '62 Rolex Zephyr, and a '78 Rolex Explorer 1016.
And the only one I just couldn't live without was the 1016. Sold it in 2003, just reacquired one in even better condition in 2016. So, 13 years. |

Traded a smooth bezel DJII (+cash) for a fluted bezel DJII same color. Does that count?

In my case, I flipped a SubC LN for a SubLVc. It's sort of the same watch but more beautiful and unique. It took me a couple of months to get my LVc because of the AD wait list/time in Canada.
