First vintage Rolex - 6082 and lugs

I am in the process of searching for me first vintage piece after much research. I have landed on a 6082 which I really like. It seems as though the cases used on these are quite thin, noticeably the lugs. Now the one I've found I know has been polished, but am curious as to whether it's been so over polished that the lug holes are too close to edges proposing risks. I would love feedback on this!

I am not sure. I suppose I am not familiar with that term. Would a picture attached to the bracelet help? It looks just like a normal spring bar.

One side has a hole through the lug, one side doesn't

Oh, yes it does. Only one side is drilled.

Am I seeing correctly that the left-hand lugs are solid whereas the right-hand lugs are drilled? That CAN'T be standard, I'm no expert but come on, no manufacturer does that. An owner might have, though - the solid lugs on my 6424 defeated my attempts to remove the 20mm springbars to the point where I had to jam clippers in there and cut them out, I couldn't get them out with the usual tools, and no lug holes...so, snip snip. If I had a mini drill press handy I might do it myself, but that case is so pretty without the holes...

No, that's consistent for 6082 cases as well as other vintage Rolex and Tudor oysters from that era. Looking for more opinions on the lug holes

How about some straight-on pics of the watch from the front and rear? I suspect the lugs are fine, but those views would make a judgment easier.

Is one of the lug holes, I think the solid side, threaded?

Not that I am aware nor do I see. I am working on getting higher resolution pictures or the inside of the lugs. Just trying to gather opinions on if the holes seem too close to the lug edges.

It's not the end of the world, if the price is right. I've had lugs laser-welded when the polish had milled down too close to the holes. Your candidate doesn't LOOK like it would be a problem for normal daily wear, but that is my opinion and likely to be countered.

Pete, your dislike of bubblebacks has betrayed you: a lot of the earlies only had one lug hole all the way through. It's kinda cool, actually.

I concur with Adam. Absolutely fine and not significantly thinner than factory at the time on that model.

1 lug hole, 2 lug holes, and no lug holes all exist in the early years.
