Great review. I bought my Zenith El Primero HW after reading another of your reviews.
This one makes me think this Ceramic Seamaster could be next. Keep up the good work. |

I love omega watches, however I just can't get past the dail change without the waves, it kind of makes the watch look fake, then again I've not seen one in person

Agree, it just doesn't look right anymore to me. Still nice just not what I want with a SMP. Always thought the SMP was one of the nicest heads with a ugly bracelet.

I personally think its deliberate knowing people want the ceramic bezel, if for example they just put the new bezel on the older SMP there wouldn't be anywhere for them to take the design while stays true to its roots. My guess is in future the SMP waves will return.

I'd like to say - now after a long time and seeing many of these watches in person my mind has changed and I total get what omega has done
To put it simply photos don't do this watch any justice, in person it's beautiful, the ceramic bezel and gloss dial can't be captured correctly on screen. |

The new SMP is nice, but the 2254.50 is as good as it gets. I miss the wave dial, sword hands and Speedy bracelet. Those are all cosmetic things, though. I'm sure a lot of people love the changes. What would really stop me from buying the new SMP (not that I am in the market for one) is the 2500 movement. The 1120 was a workhorse and the 2500 has never been the most reliable movement...

And by the way, I've always liked the SMP, the new ceramic is great looking.

I bought one from Costco back in 2014. Had to return it because I needed money to marry my lovely Wife.
There are days I wish I didn't return the watch :( |

The smpc has been my daily wearer for a few years now. It'll be a shame to see her go, but it's time to move up. The ceramic blue bezel really has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. It really is pretty, and the hue changes depending on the light.
