Personally, I'd be astonished if the current economy doesn't impact Rolex sales. It's not just resources that lead to a sale, it's also one's attitude.

This is a rather serious situation brewing. We have some well-deserved "tough love" coming. I see consumerism dying up at all levels. Take a look at dire forecast for Christmas sales and the huge plunge in consumer product stocks.

Didn't take me long this week to come to the conclusion that I need another watch like I need a hole in the head. That's a sentiment arrived at totally independent of resources available. Yea, I know rich guy x doesn't care ... But think of the buying demographic for Rolex, it's a good hunk of the middle and upper-middle classes that will probably tend to keep more cash around --- just in case. I mean when you get right down to it --it's a watch.

Tell me how many you sell next year compared to this year. That's the metric to track.

They will raise prices, cut back production and increase their margins.

Its pretty simple really, manufacturers are being charged more for raw materials, so they just pass that along to the end user. I think you will see more of a trend to purchase pre-owned as well.
