VC Overseas Perpetual Cal/Chrono NYC Edition 1/20 !

Hi guys : centimeters away from pulling the trigger on this watch. Just wanted some feedback on the model & pricing. As the title says it's a perpetual calendar with chrono. Retail was 70K in 2011-12 buying for 30K. Would love some feedback on the movement reliability etc. Thanks
Sam

Beautiful watch and I was seriously tempted when it first came out. Not aware of any issues with the movement. If you pass please let me know!

Movement is an F. Piguet 1185 base (which VC modify to make it their 1136) with an in-house QP module.
Haven’t seen anything which suggests it’s not up to the task for which it’s employed.
At the saving to be had, you'd be a mug for passing up the opportunity – https://www.chrono24.co.uk/vacheronc...-id4961087.htm
Spend the extra on the bracelet though – http://www.thehourlounge.com/en/vach...outique-602294

Thanks PJ. That's the seller that I offered 30K to but was countered at $39500. So quite a hill to climb but at that price he is throwing in a brand new VC bracelet which I wanted. Will keep the thread updated.

FWIW, list price was $57,900 – so mid-$30K with the bracelet, at the absolute most.

I called the NYC boutique to do a background check on the watch. I was told the retail when first introduced in 2011 was $69900 but was then dropped to $62000. Thanks for all your help.

http://forums.timezone.com/index.php...=0#msg_6604350 – when they were selling theirs 3 years ago.
http://www.mywatchmart.com/listing/7...in-steel-mint/ – only last year

Perhaps optimism needs to be tempered with a mild dose of reality – good luck in your quest to obtaining the best deal you can.

It's quite a cool looking watch, the only thing I can't stand is the month dial, 48 months, basically almost impossible to make out, how in the hell did they have such a stupid idea, sure it's probably a good way to deal with the leap years, no need of a window or extra hand, but really not practical, in any case it looks really nice, and yes get a bracelet, for the price I think 39 is a little too much, 35-36 would be more reasonable, if there is a bracelet

Now that you say that, they could have used two hands as with the subdials at 3 and 9. Perhaps it would have been too busy with the chrono second hand though.

Not a fan of the 48 month also.

Beautiful piece, wonder if the OP ever bought it. The 4 yr month window is a lil odd. Anyone know if they built it that way to prolong the adjustment period?
