GMT-II w/3186
Are there any left at AD's?
If so, did they go up in price? Wonder if the new price increse will make them worth more of a collector item. I have been thinking about wearing mine, or I just might let it sit in the safe for a few years.

They did not take a price increase as they are no longer in the catalog. The classic version that is.

I hope my M SD and M DSSD are collectors items in 20 years
BUT I will surely wear them like they are meant to be worn till then. I also collect firearms and I don't buy anything I wont use or carry. If I want something to start at Ill take a picture and hang it on the wall.

I think it will and people still get a great deal of $$ for a well worn vintage piece. So, enjoy it.

Impossible to find one BNIB here in France, or the few left are really above price list (5500€+) looked in Germany didn't find any as well. Had to order mine from the US.

Maybe in 20 yrs it will worth say $5k (todays value) than new GMT at that time. So its not worth it to wait 20 yrs to gain today's value of $5K.
Its certainly not PN daytona or DRSD, its just a transitional model Just my $0.02. |

I completely agree, I absolutely love the GMT II and wear mine daily, but by no means will a M serial be worth more than a Z in the future. I have a late Z with the 3185, mine came with the new book highlighting the new hairspring too. All I have to do is buy a Explorer II with the 3186 and swap movements then I will have a GMT II with 3186. If the 3186 was worth more, everyone would do this, it is just not going to be a factor in the future IMHO, just wear it, it will take a few decades for your watch to be worth the MSRP at time of purchase.

If your only reason to own that watch is to sell it in a few years for a profit, you are better off getting rid of it now and putting the money in the market while everything is on sale.
Just my 2 cents. Marc |

Just came from the AD yesterday and we mentioned this one again....he said there are no more available for purchase in the AD pipeline...I'd bet there are still ADs with these in their stock, but you'll have to hunt...anyone seen any lately?
