Martin Landau, Oscar Winner for 'Ed Wood,' Dies at 89

Martin Landau has died.

Tim Burton's "Ed Wood," for which Landau won an Oscar, is one of my favorite films and Landau's performance as Bela Lugosi was my favorite of all the roles I saw him in.

It's sad to see him go.

I think I'll buy a copy of "Ed Wood" now.
His résumé includes 'Mission: Impossible,' 'Tucker: The Man and His Dream' and 'North by Northwest.' It does not, however, include 'Star Trek.'

Martin Landau, the all-purpose actor who showcased his versatility as a master of disguise on the Mission: Impossible TV series and as a broken-down Bela Lugosi in his Oscar-winning performance in Ed Wood, has died. He was 89.

As a kid I was hooked on Space 1999, we never did get that moon base on schedule. But UK sci fi like the Daleks was always to be enjoyed.

Thought he created one of the screen's truly thought provoking characters in 'Crimes and Misdemeanors'. The older I get, the more truth I see in what that film, and Landau's performance, was trying to say.
