My Rolex Band ??????
I have a Rolex date on jubilee band from the 60,s and just realised that the band says Rolex USA rather then swiss why is this? Also where the band connects to the case on the underneath where the steel grade is usualy posted it is engraved 49 I will try to get pic,s up but if anyone has an idea on this please let me know... Thanks.

In the 50's and 60's, Rolex contracted to have bracelets manufactured in the USA, Mexico, and other countries because the heavy luxury taxes on completed watches made competition with in-country makers difficult....
The main watch head with movement was shipped from Geneva, the bracelets were received from their manufacturers, and they were assembled and packaged in New York..

The oyster bracelet on the watch I purchased in the 1970s is Rolex USA.
