YG Sub = DD + $4k

And honestly the trade in value of the DD is like less then $15k probably around $13-14k

That diamond meteorite dial is just a bit too much bling for my taste so I would not do it.

Meteorite is pretty special...

The values are pretty close. I'd do it because I don't care for the super case 6 digit Subs.

Do the trade, and then trade your old DD toward a 16618 in blue, black, or serti!

Not so much. The meteorite dials are a very expensive option. Current retail on a DD36 with meteorite is around $42k.

No.

The only DD I would even think about trading that sub for would be the DD40...and even then I don't know if I would.

Personally l would keep the gold Sub, but if you were to trade l would think your Sub is worth more. You pay a premium for a meteorite/diamonds when new, but that drops off over time, especially 13 years. That's a big change over from the Sub to DD in looks, but maybe that's what your ready for. Good luck! Cheers!

I like the DD better of the two; I'd do it.

I would not do the trade, unless you were getting cash on top of the DD. One thing you should do before any trade is to have the DD authenticated by an AD. No one has mentioned this, and I just wanted to raise the issue so that you don't get screwed if you decide to do the trade.

Not me. I love Subs so may not be the best source.

The sub will hold its value. I think that DD will continue to go south.

I wouldn't do the trade.

The meteorite dial is indeed special and may be worth it but I just doesn't feel right.

That is the one day-date I hope to own one day!

As for the OP's question, I am going to go against the pack here. You can always get another gold sub. I like to think the meteorite dials are a little more scarce, and that one is gorgeous. If dollar for dollar they are similar in value then do what you like. You seem to be leaning towards the day date...go for it!

Honestly the meteorite dial is ugly. Makes the dial look cluttered and not so easy to read the time.
