I get impatient with the near-insulting comments on this topic. Some of us do have very curved upper surfaces on our arms which makes the watch feel very unstable. But on the flat inside, it,sits perfectly, is better protected against damage, and just easier to consult. Remarks about other cultural meanings should go the way of "don't ask, don't tell.
