Yes, I was simply pointing out how you could apply marcopome's logic (5 to 6-digit updates) to the 16610LV.

(and reminding him that the TOG was discontinued several years ago)

Turns out Rolex is unhappy about all of the "toolwatch" wordvomit. Something got lost in the translation. Apparently a bunch of pseudo celebrities and other tools have been flocking to the model tarnishing the brand. Seems Rolex feels they'd be better served by the yacht master.

Rolex don't publish sales figures, so it's all hearsay and guesswork really.

There's really very limited stocks right now. China sales has gone down dramatically, maybe they're downselling the diver's watches to push the overstocked other models

Rolex isn't selling too many of the DSSD because not everyone can wear it. You need a 6-inch wrist to comfortably wear it.

Hey, if you don't have a 6 inch wrist, I'm not saying you shouldn't buy it. I'm just saying, the majority of smaller wrists out there won't buy this model.

I emailed my Rolex AD and they were kind enough to replay.
Rolex are only discontinuing the old SD400. The DSSD is still in the line up.

I've seen many people with 6.2-6.3 wrist wearing DS so tight to prevent the watch from rolling around. Watch lug to lug is the same width as their wrists (some wearing even wider than their wrist). Fleshes are squeezed out from both side of the bracelet. They think they're looking very cool with it....Imagine a 250 pound fellow wearing tight t-shirt/tights! IMO, looks awful!
Sorry for my -ve commend....but I think must of us buy clothes and accessories that fit our build with the intention to making us look better, not the opposite!

The dssd is going no where for now. The literature shows the new Sd, the black dssd and the d-blue in the line up.

So those predictions were wrong !!

As above I can't see the DSSD being discontinued anytime soon.

However given the revised SDc I guess the popularity of this model may be a deciding factor on the DSSD longevity over the upcoming years.

Deepsea blue has 6-24 month waiting lists for the Deepsea blue. Its business and making aftermarket price bigger turning some model to collectable right away does not help them to get Swiss Francs. If there are manufacturing or other reasons to discontinue, then maybe, but so far i dont see any reason to do so.

How much will that change now with the new SD43 release, I expect people to change their orders.

I think he meant DDSD orders being withdrawn and changed to SD43s. I'd do that if it were me. SD43 size is perfect for ME, and the thinner dimension isn't bad

it's selling out at every store - because of the extremely low production (even lower for the blue deepsea) and if this is the case, discontinuing it wouldn't really hurt its sales as production is low to begin with...
