Keeping my Rolex on a safe or on a winder

Hi guys, I wanted to ask you a question.

After almost 4 years wearing my Rolex GMT almost daily, I got my self a new Seamaster, to use it daily and keep my GMT for more special occasions.

But the fact that it's not on a winder, I have to reset it each time I want to wear it, sometimes not wearing it at all and grabbing my Seamaster just for lazyness.

So I've been thinking of getting a watch winder for my other autos, like my Aquaracer that I'm saving for my son, and my Rolex, so each time I want to wear I'll be ready to go.

How is the wear and tear of the movement having it on a winder compared to keeping it on a safe box and setting it up only when I'm going to wear it?

my concern is, that here in my country I do not have a Rolex service center, and I'll have to take it to USA to have it serviced.

On a winder is fine

In a safe is fine.

Your choice.

Congrats on the Omega. Put the GMT in the safe. It could use a rest.

Every couple of months just give the GMT a full wind, rotate the hands on the dial and put it back in the safe. It will be fine.

¿Pensé que todo el mundo hablaba español?

My point being that there are multiple RSCs in the US.

i go by the "myth" that watches wear out faster on a winder.
like another member said, full wind at least once a month if its not
on rotation.

These. If you do decide you want a winder then you want/need it to turn 650 times per day iirc to keep it fully wound.

I had a winder in the past and decided as I did not a moon phase or an annual calendar it was something I really did not need.
