Crown on new datejust 41 solid gold or not?

Hi, I am a bit confused, when I pull out my crown fully to adjust time on my new datejust 41 126333, all I see inside crown is gold, gold stem and the threads inside crown appear to be gold, but it screws down onto the steel case with steel threads. I thought the gold crown had a machined in steel thread so gold and steel did not meet as obviously the gold would get worn quicker. I only wear it at weekends mostly, due to work, so it does get adjusted and wound on a fairly regular occasion, hence my concerns. The watch was brand new from AD so I know it's correct crown, could just ask them when I go back, but I feel more confident in this forum with very knowledgeable Rolex enthusiasts, thanks for reading, look forward to any advice, cheers Carl.

I seem to recall other threads about this. It's not solid as it would be too soft abe coukd easily be damaged. I believe it is gold capped.

Now on all TT watches prior to approx 2007 the crowns were just gold capped over steel. But from around 2008/9 they started what they call monobloc crowns,now these are made from solid gold but the center is machined out, to accommodate a stainless steel sleeve, with s.steel threads. Other wise the gold crown if it had gold threads would wear very quickly, but the amount of gold weight difference between the two types is a very very very small amount.

Hi, thanks for your replies,yes have done some searching and have heard what you are saying, all makes sense but my confusion is when looking at the crown fully out position up close with a loupe it all appears the same gold colour throughout, and gold stem, I cannot see steel insert or steel treads, all appears gold or is it blended? maybe just over thinking or worrying, has 5 yr warranty! I was still confused about the gold threads I could see on my crown and that it screws into steel crown tube so I rang Rolex London today and they confirmed that they are in fact solid gold, said about my concerns of wear against the steel tube and the guy agreed that obviously the gold would wear! But just said it's definitely all gold and that's that! Surely Rolex must know what they are doing. Anyway thanks for any input, I am still very new to Rolex but loving them and this forum, cheers.
