Deploying soon, which watch to bring?
In a few weeks I'm off to Afghanistan for a six month deployment and trying to figure out which watch to accompany me in my travels. I will have a G Shock to deal with any extremes so this will be for wear under more normal non-shtf conditions. The options I'm looking at are:
Breitling Aerospace Tudor Black Bay Bronze Rolex Sub LVc Bremont Alt-1C |

Well since you are already taking a Gshock as a beater, I would take the LVc. Good to have something with color with in you are in place like that
By the way, stay safe. |

The Lvc is rugged enough. Once you wear it forward deployed it becomes a mil sub! ;-). Good luck & good hunting. Stay Frosty.

Voted for the SubC LV...I know I'd feel good just by looking at it and having it with me
if number 2 was allowed : the Tudor. Stay safe...and come back home with plenty of unforgettable memories with your wrist buddy !!!

Id only take the Gshock, but if you insist on taking another one to war with you, then the least expensive . I think the only thing you need to be worrying about,is your own hide and your buddies next to you, nothing else.

Hey brother! I am deploying soon as well. I was originally going to Africa, but have been diverted to Germany. Not much of a deployment, but I’ll take it. I am taking my Explorer II and BLNR. When I was going to Africa, it was just the Explorer II. My vote for you is the Tudor. It’s a bit more low key, and would draw a bit less attention from people. Stay safe! |

I took a G-Shock and a CWC G10, the G10 is still there somewhere....in bits.
There's no way I'd take a Rolex or any other luxury watch to the sandpit. |

There’s no way I would go without one personally. They were meant to be worn, then passed down with the memories. If it gets lost or stolen, insurance. Although I wouldn’t take my BLNR or another more flashy watch, just a sleeper like my Exp II or Tudor Ranger. Just my own opinion. |

I would take the Tudor. It will probably not stand out too much and still fill the need of a fine timepiece while afield. I'm very thankful for your service to our country! Just prayed for your mission to be successful!

Take the Rolex
I wore a DSSD for my six months at HKIA 2014-2015. It survived everything AFG threw at it -- including some close calls!
Stay safe. |

If it's secure enough take the Sub. If not just the G Shock. Stay safe and thank you for your service!

I would pick the Breitling but I am biased since owning one for a few weeks now.
Stay safe!
