Insurance

Hello everyone,

Does anyone have experience with Lavalier insurance? Any advice on the claims process and reputation would be great. Unfortunately, I cannot use Jewelers Mutual due to the fact that I am 18 years old with no credit yet. I have Geico and i believe that they use jewelers mutual. I also don't think I can get state farm personal articles policy because I do not have their insurance.

Thank you

No credit?

I have two watches insured with JM, and I don't think they ever checked my credit or asked for anything other than an appraisal.

I know they do credit checks to determine the premium you pay on car insurance so it makes sense for jewelry insurance as well. There is a statistical correlation between lower scores and the likelihood of submitting a claim.

Some states do not allow this i believe though.

It's not really about it making sense in this case.

Others will chime in, but I definitely did not give them anything that would let them do a credit check.

We've heard rumors of JM checking credit, but that's not the case for the majority of people. Can't hurt to try.

I created an account, submitted my appraisal and paid my premium online. No issues.

Same here. No credit check. Just proof of the item being insured and premium payment over the phone by credit card (you'll need that).

Not sure I gave them anything related to my age for that matter...for all they knew I was 18!

JM doesn't check credit score at all ...... Hell I didn't even have to give them a receipt or anything on my watches, I just gave a brief detail of what I owned and what I wanted to insure them for.

They simply sent a bill over and I paid online via my CC.

What insurance do you have with Geico?

JM also turned me down and I went to Lavalier. I would recommend them.
