That is awesome, love the detail of the second hand movement!!
I'm assuming your shutter speed was just under 3 seconds...

Correct, Steve. The reason I had to use 3 seconds is simply that this image was taken using a reversed lens mounted on a macro lens to get real close and to get the necessary resolution / pixels to portray the seconds hand. Using a reversed lens as a 2nd lens in addition to the 1st lens, means that you reduce the light and thus need longer exposure / shutter time.

I took another pic this morning using a 20mm extension tube and a 2 second shutter speed. Unfortunately, it also shows every little spec of lint and dust.

Well done, indeed! Love those macro shots. The first one really gives a true idea of that beautiful shade of blue.

With this shot..... which is quite impressive....you got me wondering. I understand Rolex has gold markers on the dials. It appears there is some sort of white plastic ? Inside the gold markers ?
Is that actually plastic or some special material ? What are the dials made of ? Is the "Rolex and official chronometer" test printed on the dial ? |
