Rolex 16234 3135 Movement
Hey TRF got my '91 16234 last week and just want an opinion about the movement, see picture below. When I wind it it seems really stiff and with your ear close you can hear the wind 'noise'. I've owned a 1601 and 16234 in the pst and don't recall the wind being that 'tight'. Also was wondering on the case where the crown is there is a slight 'dip' in the case, not sure if it's from wear or etc.
Thoughts? |

What's the service history of this watch?

That is un-known. I have the original double box, polish cloth, booklets-- but no papers. Previous owner has them in storage. Was passed down when his Grandfather passed, he believes it was serviced in 2004. It keeps time very well as-is.

You have a choice; either bet the watch needs servicing and RSC will find something needing repair/replacement and then rest easy after the service, or bet the watch is in OK and keep the cost of a service then worry that the mechanism will fail and cost more to repair in the future.
