Service Question

Folks looking for some input. I want to get one of my Rolexes polished. Both smooth and brushed finish areas. I am leaning on sending it to Rolex, but I was wondering if this is something you guys would trust to someone other than Rolex? I saw a couple of youtube videos for do it yourself and I am not even going to attempt that.

I'm lucky to live in an area where there are many very qualified CW21s. I feel comfortable with them doing it. I purchased a 16710 that had been put through the ringer with polishing. My local guy made it look like it had never been butchered. If i lived anywhere else, I'd prob just send to RSC, depending on the model. If it's vintage, i'd take the advice of others on here and send it to a specialist.

How do you unpolish a bad polish? I'd assumed damage of this sort was virtually irreparable. Do you have any before/after pics?

I wish I did, sadly I don't have any before pics. Everything was very rounded and it didn't look good at all. He was able to restore the edges and make them look crisp based on how he polished it. The only sign of the previous bad polishing is on the crown guards. Those still have have some unnatural rounding.

High polished areas can easily be brushed. Just look at all the folks who brush their PCLs. The key is taking it to the right people. What reference is the watch?

Personally, I would wait for a full service and have it done by RSC then
