Would you make this trade?

As some of you might know, I’ve had my 44 RG since new. I loved (and still do) the size, contrast in the dial and heft.

But.. it is one heavy watch!

Considering that I have a YG DDII and a YG sub, I was thinking of swapping the RG for the new ceramic.

Here’s a pic of the collection for a little juice.

I don't see why not. You have PM well covered Alex

I personally like the Ti better but can understand if that's not your style

That’s an amazing collection - I would be interested to know which gets the most wrist time.

I struggle to give a clear opinion on your question. Personally, i went for the CE as I find it better for daily wear - particularly as the RG would be a bit flashy for my office

It’s a very tough call to make and likely the best way to approach it to avoid regrets is to add the CE to your collection, see which you prefer and unload the other after some time.

I'd get rid of the day date and do the swap. You got too many all gold watches.

Interesting perspective. Definitely wouldn’t be keeping two pieces that look the same.

As far as wrist time, I change it up... daily lol.

That’s not happening for sentimental reasons.

Yeah... that’s the tough part. I love the RG but find myself switching wrists a few times per day.

I had the Ti for a little bit but found it a little too dull for me. The rubber strap was much softer than the usual straps.

We have similar collections Alex, but no way I could do it, the RG 44 is my star. I would be more inclined to sell the DD2 for the CE. I sold mine for a Nautilus.

Funny, you’re the second person to say sell the DDII. That’s cemented in the collection as I’ve wanted a DD since I was muuuch younger.

Agree that the RG is super. I much rather prefer it to the newer one. The contrast makes the dial pop.

If you put a red GP on it, the whole thing pops even more. Love it on mine.

Since the DD is out of the question, how about the YG Sub? Any chance of trading that?

To me the sub and DD look more similar than a RG 44 and a CE 44 would. I would get rid of the sub and add the CE.

I'm probably the odd here but since, the daydate have to be there for me personally I'd trade the ROC for the CE since both the daydate and Roc are both black dial and all gold means it's both pretty much gonna be worn in similar occasion?

Why not just add a CE to the collection without trading?

If the watch feels heavy, I would join a gym . It would be a lot cheaper and the bonus of getting fitter.

I’d I’d trade either rolex with the CE.

OP, were you able to get any discount on the CE?

The issue with selling the sub is that the market isn’t very strong on it and I take it on vacations, water sports, etc.

Might as well keep it unless I can get around $23k.

At first I thought, yeah, CE would be a change and fun. However,
I do think after the novelty fades (no pun intended) the RG is a nicer watch.

There’s a reason it’s still in the collection even though it’s a heavy watch. The dial combo is killer.

I agree with this if it's your only watch. I sold my CE for that reason. I wanted something with more pop, so I got the RG. But if I already had say a gold watch, a steel watch, I would have easily kept the CE. It's such an amazing watch.

Though I'd rather have the forged carbon actually over the CE. At first I preferred the CE to the carbon, but after having the CE for a couple months, I decided the carbon long term is better.

No, keep the RG44. You clearly love gold watches and my guess is you will get bored with the C44 after a while. As for the weight, yeah its a pain but that's a tradeoff I am willing to live with.
