Checking Serial No. for your watch
Was just curious .. is there a website or a way to contact Rolex to confirm serial numbers or style numbers maybe?
So basically giving them the serial / style number and then get an answer to which watch it should be with year of make. Ive contacted other watch makers in the past such as Mont Blanc with serial numbers and they replied back within a day or two with full reference for my Mont Blanc watch. Im sure Omega do the same aswell. |

Unlikely they would provide that info. However it is available online if you look hard enough. If you have a specific question about a specific serial # we can help you here.

Rolex does not provide data to owners about their watches.....
Rolex service centers will examine a watch in for service and will notify you if any of the parts are not genuine. We're pretty much on our own....

Thanks for the replies.
Its nothing particular I had to ask, was just curious if anyone had to buy a pre-owned watch and they have a serial number could they check what watch model it matches with year etc. Even though I'm assuming good fakes would try matching up numbers. |

All good info above and if you add the clasp code info on the link below it covers just about everything you should need (clasp codes from 1976 to 2011).......after that they are random 3 digits.
http://watch-collector.co.uk/date-rolex-clasp-codes/ I believe the clasp code is stamped near the end of a watch's production process so is a more accurate guide to exactly when it was made than just a serial number.........and depending on model, it can be quite a long time before it's actual sale date on the papers !! |

Just been checking my watch the clasp code on mines is X5 - X comes up as 1999 which mines is.
Also I've noticed on my clasp and bracelet there is a code 93150... the style number (on my warranty ) ends with 9315... is this a coincidence or is it meant to be same? the 'ends' of my bracelet which fix between the lugs has a code 501B .. what is this ref to ? |

Another question that has come to mind.....
What if you replace the parts... like for like - such as the clasp / bracelet , bezel , dial etc How would anyone know that you have changed it and its not the 'original' parts for that watch? Because everything will be authentic Rolex parts ...but not original (factory fitted?). I hope that makes sense lol |
