GMT bracelet 78360 bracelet authentication
Hey,
Could anyone tell me if this bracelet looks ok. It's a 78360 bracelet for a GMT with, end links are 580. For some reason it has the wrong 78790 clasp with code S DE2 which means it's a service clasp from 2001, but why would they put the wrong clasp on if they changed it at service. The bracelet itself has no stretch and doesn't feel as smooth as others I have had, but those were stretched. It kinks on certain links. Here are some pics.. Thanks! |

It has the wrong clasp because there are millions more Rolex owners than collectors and in typical fashion, they take the watch to their watchmaker or jeweler for a repair and tell them to repair what's broken. Most are not concerned with originality but more with function.
The other possibility exists that the owner wanted a flip-lock clasp so the standard clasp was changed out for the current clasp. I've seen this occur with many Oyster bracelets.

Mix of parts but appear genuine - wouldn't worry me as an owner but in any deal it would simply be a matter of ensuring disclosure.
