Handstack is wrong. Crown position is wrong. LEC is wrong. Date is wrong. It's not a Franken. It's a fake. A 200$ fake. |

If it is a fake I'd guess 200 bucks wouldn't buy you one.

Just curious. OP was not paying "200 bucks" - did he make a bad call, by turning this down? Thanks

I still think it's possibly real, but OP made the right decision given the uncertainty + shady seller imo. If it was a $200 fake collectively we'd have seen one before I'd imagine.

I've never seen so much incorrect or misinformation as in this thread.
Look at the hand stand - all you hand stack posters. The hour hand is clearly on the bottom - like it should be. Tje dial is 100% genuine. I've never seen a fake dial for this watch that replicated a genuine dial. The hands are genuine - unlike fake hands that are easy to identify. Bezel insert is genuine too. Too bad there are so many incorrect assumptions posted here. Definitely appears to be the "bandwagon syndrome."

This thing looks pretty authentic to my untrained eye.
What I want to know is why are all these inquiries always for "a friend"? Can't your friend join up and ask for him/her self? To me, this is always very suspicious. |

[QUOTE=Sprta;8072291]You think if someone wanted to sell a fake they could just post the picture of the watch here to get our comments to see how good or bad their fake

It is nothing more than light reflecting off the markers.

I understand what you are saying, but as light does not penetrate steel, how can those little blips be a reflection from the markers? The nubs I see are between the inside of the bezel insert, and the outside of the crystal- all outside of the rehaut. Are you saying it's a reflection from the camera flash?
To be certain I am not saying you are incorrect- you are the resident GMT expert- just wondering what I am seeing in that one full-frontal pic. I do see how it could be the play of light. Just wondering where it's coming from. JCATT

I stand by everything else I said. If the handstack is wrong, then the crown position is wrong. Simple as that. ETA Gmt movements have a noticeably lower crown position. |
