I think what to do is check out a lot of pieces that interest you and think about it. After a week the one that you think about most you'll like. The one you think about for years is probably your GRAIL. There can be only one grail in my mind. Just my opinion.

Of the bunch, my only real grail is the Datograph, of which I would probably go for the old generation. But I'm sure the other 4 are others grails, which was the point of sharing.
Agreed. Top view is always look big.

Why you don’t like the Dato up/down?

Maybe grail-worthy is the right way to describe those pieces.

For me the real grail is/has been the Datograph for a while. This is my fourth time handling this Datograph at the AD and I'm sure it is the one.

Nice. I think it's time to take the plunge.

I much prefer the Romans on the old dial but the new one for its better balanced size. So for me the Zeitwerk is now my Lange grail.

I think I prefer the old version because of the roman numerals and the slightly smaller case - it's more elegant and fitting for my wrist size. Also quite a bit cheaper pre-owned.

I feel the Up/Down is a bit sportier and can be dressed up or down more easily. The difficulty is finding one on the secondary market at a price I'm comfortable with.

Datograph is grailworthy without a doubt. Could look at the inner workings all day long. And, btw, really fits you well. Deep Blue is also visually stunning. Post wrist pics under an alias and run!

I'm obviously a Rolex fan boy but that Lange & Sohne is a beauty. Best of the bunch.
