Jim,
What grade do you give to the Swiss CDA pens? I only have one that I purchased on my honeymoon about 20 years ago. It is lovely, but it looks like they have come a long way since then. Thanks!!!

I have an Ecridor with the steel nib that is one of the smoothest nibs I own. Then I have two Varius; one rosewood and one China Blue that are simply reflections of Swiss technology. They are as meticulously finished inside and out as the finest Swiss watches. The Hexagonal in the picture is yet another example of attention to detail. Here are a couple pictures that may help illustrate that. First, an Ecridor which is the entry level pen line. Note that in the upper picture the section is a smooth cone. That means that when capped it is possible, likely even, that the edges will not line up perfectly between cap and barrel as can be seen in the lower picture. Now let's look at the Hexagonal which uses the same basic form as the Ecridor. Notice that there is a step between the body and section and in the second picture you can see that it is chamfered to align the two parts smoothly. The result is absolutely perfect alignment when capped. I also have a Geneve which was the predecessor of the Leman. |
