There's definitely room for both in a collection. The 500 is much more sporty, while the 520 is dressier and classic.

Ceramic for me. Just looks sportier and my steel bezel scratched very easily.

Between the ceramic and non-ceramic Daytona, I think the ceramic Daytona is stunning.
However, I will buy and wear the non ceramic one if I come across a good deal. |

I absolutely prefer steel for the black version. For the white, I think I would go ceramic...

Yes. The SS Zenith Daytonas are far and away my favorite.

I prefer the white D500, better protection, better size and better bezel contrast.

I like them both.
But I prefer the contrast, size, and style of the ceramic. It makes for a very elegant, sporty watch.

It's a Daytona both in the words of Cole Porter are "the top"! I ended up with a Daytona C so that's my favorite had I pulled the trigger on a 116520 when they were $10k I've no doubt that would be my favorite. I will concede that the non-ceramic bezel is a bit dressier and I could see owning a black one in the future to complement the white C.

Thus the reason why I much prefer the 116500.

I'd probably agree with that, and only add one to the beginning:
6263>16520>116500>116520
