It's my take that the IIs are now a watch to unload for the ADs since the new watch has more conservative styling and better mechanics. The point is that there is pressure to drop the price and give discounts.
It was extremely hard to find a decent discount. All the difference you mentioned I personally put value on. I like the bigger dimensions and feeling ok the wrist. I like the proven reliability of the 3136 but have no doubt in the new movement. I just felt that the DJII was much more desirable. I feel I got lucky in my region to get the discount I got. Many trusted and greys were higher some by hundreds and a few by a thousand plus. Davidsw was 200 cheaper and I figured for such a small difference why not got AD. I’m very happy with h the watch and the experience.

I just bought that one from DavidSW, arrived yesterday. My first Rolex, I looked long and hard at all models up to about 9k and that's the one that moved me. Love the size, big gold bezel and sporty dial, truly an awesome watch.

That’s a nice watch. I love the DJ2 fluted baton dials.

Congrats.

Same as buying an autographed jersey. I will always wonder if it’s 100% BUT if I watch the athlete sign it I know everytime I look at it who signed it.

I’m on a cell FYI.
There's a lot to be said for that. Congrats on the DJ2!
