Latest Acquisition

Went into a Montblanc boutique to look for a 149 but ended up with a Meisterstück Solitaire Blue Hour LeGrand Fountain Pen. Went to a pen shop 2 weeks after looking for some ink and ended up with a PLATINUM MODERN MAKIE SORYU DRAGON BLACK FOUNTAIN PEN and totally forgot about the ink

Very Nice. Looks like Platinum changed the shape of their Modern Maki-e series pens. What is the nib like? Threaded or slip on cap?

The nib doesn't look as good as the Montblanc but writes smoothly without excessive ink flow. Slip on cap.

Really nice pens.

I have the Two Dragon Platinum and they write fairly well. I think I paid around 85 dollars for it and I like the screened art work.

Jim (jar) inspired me to begin collecting the hand made and painted Urushi / Maki-e pens, but they begin at about 600.00 and go on up, up, up from there.

Jim has to have one of the most remarkable collections of them that I have seen on any of the message boards that I participate in. Truly fantastic works of art. And he is a deep well of knowledge on them.

Congratulations!!! Really nice MB also!
