Nothing against flipping. What you're about to do though is flip a keeper which is a mistake. The last iterations before ceramic are all keepers Goddamn it!

If the SD won’t get wrist time, flip it and get your grail. That said, give it some time for BLNR prices to stabilize again before flipping.
FWIW, I’ve only flipped one watch thinking I wouldn’t wear it after acquiring another one and I regretted it. Still regret it and that was 2 1/2 years ago.

I say don't do it. I sold an Omega Planet Ocean 2209.50 and Railmaster 2504.52 for a BLNR a few years ago and regretted it. Ended up selling the BLNR and buying a 14060M instead and its a decision that i've never turned back to look at.

I sold my M-serial 16600 in 2013, regretted it, and took me 5 years, and $3000 more to get another one. And it won't even ship to me before 3rd Jan because of the New Year holidays, word!

That said, a grail is a grail. If you must, get it. I sold my 116520, my Hulk, and a PAM 372 to get my grail. Yes, regretted selling both my Rolexes, and yes I still do miss them, but I have my grail. It's a truly shitty feeling, but that's our first wold problem we choose to have, lol.

Yes, by all means sell what you have and get your absolute grail. If it's what you'll be wearing all the time, and the BLNR is a great daily watch, then your other will just sit anyway.

- it’s my favourite attainable Rolex lol

If TheBat is your dream, than sell the SD and enjoy your dream.
I'm just a wearer and once I sold such a SD. It was annoying top heavy... and I swim and even dive with my GMT, Datejust or Milgauss equally happy and safe. I could most probably sell it for more now... did I regret? No way.
I do enjoy my dream watches... and I wouldn't go back.

Be happy with what you have. Save up for the BLNR and when the next greatest thing gets released buy it when it's NOT as hot. They're going for way more than the LN models and for what? A different bezel? Screw that. The SD is amazing!

Do you have the funds to acquire the BLNR and wait a few months before doing anything with the 16600? That way you could see how you feel about it once the honeymoon period wears off, and you could also see how much wrist time each one gets. If you find yourself never wearing the 16600 and always wearing the BLNR -- or vice versa -- then there's your answer.

Another thought - if you've been thinking about this for months (or even years) and can't seem to get the BLNR out of your head, you might have to get it to "scratch the itch". Sometimes the only way to really get over it, whether that means realizing the BLNR really IS your grail or realizing the BLNR isn't all you thought it'd be, is to just take the leap of faith and see what happens. Sure you might lose some money in the logn run if you have to reacquire the 16600, but it might be worth it for the peace of mind you'll get knowing it's the right watch for you.

GL either way, two fantastic watches and you can't go wrong.

I have flipped many times against TRF recommendation.. because following TRF consensus wasn't making me happy.
