The last time I posted, I was considering a Sub C no-date and a DJ 36 but, after doing some more research, I'm leaning more towards the SS GMT II. The price is right but I'm just worried it might look goofy on my ~6.1" wrist. Does anyone else with a smaller wrist wear a GMT/Sub?

I think you'll be completely fine, but you should go try one on if you can, as that will tell you more than anyone on the forum can, especially without photos. I'd also suggest looking at yourself in a mirror with the watch on, as just looking down at it on your wrist doesn't give you the whole story; I've had watches look big on my wrist but small in the mirror, and vice versa.

I have around a 6.375 inch wrist...40mm would be my max preference unless it's something extremely interesting....to give you an idea since you're asking about six digit sub/gmt:

I think you will be fine. My wrist is about 6.375 as well. I own the BLNR and I love it.

I have bigger watches like the Yacht 2, Sky D, PAM 243, DSSD and enjoy wearing those as well.

180mm wrist here and my ex GMT II C fits fine.

I wouldn't be too concerned about just your wrist size but do also consider the watch's ratio to your body frame. You can have small wrists but if your frame is on the chunky side, few will think the watch looks big on you.

It’s simply a matter of feel and your taste. I have a 7” wrist and prefer wearing 36mm watches.

I have girly wrists but feel pretty comfortable with the GMT II, even more so with a leather strap. Perhaps leather or rubber is something for you to consider.

I have no problem wearing a SubC on my 6.25 inch wrist and nobody has ever told me the SubC looks too large for my wrist. Of course it did take some time to get the long clasp of the SubC centered on the bottom of my wrist; the key was moving the half-link from the 12 o'clock side to the 6 o'clock side. I understand the clasp of the GMT II is shorter than the SubC, which might prove advantageous. On the other hand, the SubC's bracelet provides for more "fine tuning" of the fit.

Thanks for the responses - I'll see if I can get into an AD this week to try a GMT on. Neither of the two closest to me had any in store when I was in last month.

If size is a concern, perhaps check out the 5-digit GMT II's like the 16710. Still 40mm, but a slimmer case.

I think it’ll wear large, but it won’t look bad. Conversely, there are other watches of the same diameter that also wear large, but look out of proportion. Beauty of Rolex, they know how to make watches fit on all sorts of wrist sizes. For sure a try-on is needed for confirmation.

It will be fine try it on & then you will know , compared to the size of some of todays watches 40 mm is quite small anyway .

I think it will look great and you’ll love it.

My wrist is 6.625 inches ~ 168mm and the 116710 fits me just fine. I also wear a 42mm Speedmaster and a 45.5mm Planet Ocean. Before that, a large G-Shock and a 43mm diver. I’ve worn big watches so long that anything smaller feels like a ladies watch to me. It’s all personal preference and what you’re used to.

OP I think you will be fine - my wrist is small like 6.1-6.2" and I've been wearing 6 digit references for sometime now. It's all about what you are comfortable with.

I thought it would be too big for my small wrist, but it turned out not bad for me. But 40mm is about the max.

I don't have my GMT IIc any more, but it wore very nice on 6.5" wrist, especially with the 6 o'clock side bracelet able to size down for a good fit.

I have 2 36mm and the 40mm GMT II. I prefer the 36mm watches, but the GMT doesn't feel that much bigger. I tired the ceramic Submariner and didn't like the feel even though it's the same size as my GMT. I think you will enjoy the GMT.
