WG DaytonaC wear smaller than subc?
Hello guys
I am looking to buy the daytona c on oysterflex either WG or RG. Already own a 116610ln and have read but have read comments saying the daytona looks and wears smaller on the wrist? Is there any truth to this? As both are 40mm and i wouldnt really want anything smaller than my sub. Not too fussed about thickness more about overall lug to lug size and diameter... If anyone who has a daytona on oysterflex or leather strap and a subc could take some side by side pics or maybe both watches on 1 wrist would be most grateful Any feedback welcome Cheers guys! |

Daytonas all wear smaller than modern subs!!! It's the difference in the style of the bezel and the maxi case on the Sub vs the traditional case on the Daytona.

The oyster flex model wears a little larger than the bracelet models from my experience (I've got both). It's easily one of my favorite watches I've ever owned (the oyterflex variant).

Yes for sure. I think they look much better on the wrist than a sub unless you have arms like Hulk Hogan

WG DaytonaC wear smaller than subc?
Not on oysterflex. But maybe this helps a little. The lugs definitely are not as pronounced on the daytona.

There's a noticeable size difference, if Subc is as small as you will go the Daytona will be no good.

The WG wears a tad bigger than the SS , and the lugs are a bit wider but the Daytona is not a real 40mm , actually Daytona's are 38.5mm.

Having owned a Sub and now a 116500, I can confirm that the Daytona wears a good deal smaller (they're not both actually 40mm). Great for my small wrist, but beware - it will look smaller if you're taking the Sub off one instant and putting the Daytona on the next.
You may want to try other, larger chronographs. Maybe an AP?

The case is a little thicker, the lugs are wider, the crown guards are wider, the underside of the lugs are bigger and taper down. There's a pretty significant difference. I have all three watches (LVC, Daytona C, and WG Oysterflex), and again, of course the Sub will always wear bigger, but I never ever feel like the WG wears "small". |

It wears smaller.
But imho, it wears perfectly. Like a glove. It’s a much better fitting watch. Love the sub. And the gmt. But they are bulky.

I have a SubC and DaytonaC. SubC looks and wears a bit bigger. I would say mostly due to the lug size and of course the bezel. I’ve not measured it personally but from what I read the Daytona is actually 38 or 39mm.

I don't not own a Daytona currently but I have tried on the WG Oysterflex several times. It does seem to wear slightly smaller than my Subs (LVC and WG) but not my 1680. I didn't mind it at all though. Especially given the extra heft of the gold - it more than made up for the fractional difference in size.
