BLNR Retail?

Should I be happy with paying MSRP on a BLNR? I was between a yacht-master (ss Rodium) and the GMTII BLNR. I see the YM's for a good bit less than MSRP(unworn at non AD) but BLNR is at MSRP(at AD).

New? Yes, you will not get a discount on one that is new, likely a premium unless you can get one at an AD.

Unless you have a good relationship with your AD you likely won't get any discount. Maybe find one out of state and ship it?

Yes.

However a couple individuals on TRF stated they paid less.

I just don’t believe in paying MSRP for anything other than a Daytona, which I gladly did + sales tax. However, on my BLNR, the AD ate the sales tax and gave me $526 off retail which equates to roughly a $1242 or 13% discount.

Lucky! I tried for them to eat taxes, they weren't budging. However, I have no previous purchase here. I'm hoping that the BLNR helps me get a Daytona though from that same dealer.

This was my exact experience. Paid full retail for mine this week plus tax.

I hope that you have it reserved and don't lose it!

I would try to get a discount and see what happens. I still found it interesting my AD stated "he would help me on my next purchase since he couldn't give a discount on the BLNR"

I think the BLNR market is a little softer than we all think. I think 5-10% could be had plus no tax I would 100% try when your there with cash offer 1k-500 under and see where it goes.

So...what does that tell you?

If you want it, get it. Please do not go off what "some guy" on TRF said about a discount.

My BLNR is my ONLY watch that I got at MSRP. Everything else was discounted

Congrats on the BLNR and I wouldn’t second guess yourself on price. It’s an awesome watch.

BLNR was never discounted heavily since introduction in 2013...I'd say you made a fine choice. Enjoy in good health.

I find I am still enjoying the watches i have purchased long after I have forgotten the discount I attained (or not) when purchasing them. Congrats and enjoy.

Happy - maybe not. Try another AD to see if they can beat msrp. But then again who knows if you’re already sitting on too much cash to be bothered

They are not discounted so yes you got/will get what everyone/almost everyone pays at an AD. Greys sell them with a premium.

It is a beautiful watch, easily capable of being the one and only watch for most. Buy it and enjoy it.

In most cases, you won't be able to get any discount on BLNR. 7-8 dealers in Chicago that I contact were all selling at sticker.
But I did get my BLNR tax free (shipped from out of state) plus $1000 off last September. You really need to know the right dealer with connection to get a discount.

Regarding getting any hard to get watch with discount with the help of purchasing a BLNR at full price... um.. Good luck with that. That's just dealer's way of easing your pain on paying full price + tax this time.
Maybe if you buy a Platinum Daytona, you will get Sub-LV and Daytona C in 6 weeks!

The BLNR was my first Rolex (first purchase at my AD). I walked in saw it in case, and bought at a discount ($500 off no tax). But that was back in 2014...

Full retail for me but it was the first watch for me from this AD... Maybe I can get a discount on the next one :)
