Rolex "Heft"...

It was almost 40 years ago when I bought my first Rolex...

I remember picking it up and thinking: "Wow, this is heavy!!!"

But in a good way...

You could just feel the quality...The fit and finish was of course outstanding...But the "Heft"...
THAT'S what sold me...

(Fast Forward 40 years...)

I went to an AD in December and looked at a DeepSea...I picked it up and thought: "Wow, this is heavy!!!"

But in a good way...

You think the 5 digit Rolex's are heavy? I wouldnt agree with that.

The very first time I held a 5 digit I was like "WTF is wrong with the bracelet - its all tinny and flimsy feeling" LOL

Congrats. I’ve gone the other way! My watch on a folded link bracelet only weighs 82g, and I love it.

Great story
Do you still have the first?
Did you buy the Sea Dweller?
Would love to see pics of both

The OP's heft surprise echoed my experience buying my first DayDate VERY many years ago. I took off my stainless DateJust and picked up the yellow gold DayDate. My first reaction was that the watch had amazing heft. I did the trade immediately. Wrote a check for $5000 and walked out the door with my new watch.

I'm happy I bought the DayDate, but wish I had kept the DateJust.
