I am a huge fan of the 114060. I think the dial is perfectly balanced and the case and glide lock clasp make it very wearable. I have owned several. With that said I will say that the SD43 is the ultimate Rolex Diver for me. The case is the right size and in proportion to the bracelet. The bezel and dial match up well and the red text and cyclops really work. You also have the Glide lock bracelet. The size is perfect once you get the bracelet adjusted properly. Many times without the adjustment the watch will feel too large or will not sit right. I see the only challenge in sourcing the watch. Few AD's have them and in the Grey Market you will pay almost twice what you will for the 114060. If money is not an issue go SD43, give it an honest try and if you should decide it does not work flip out for a 114060.

Have you tried them on? If you're happy with the size, my vote would be SD. New movement and that red line of text realy pops in the right light. And its proportions are bang on - 6 digit Subs have lugs only a mother could love*. If you are not happy with the SD's size, then (lugs aside*) you can't go wrong. Its an iconic watch. * Kinda

I'd go with the 114060, particularly if I thought it would fit me better, as you do.

My local ADs have neither, so I haven't tried on either one in person. |
