Yep. Hen’s teeth here in London.

In November grey dealers were selling under £8k, now it’s over £9.5k for a new (grey) one.

History always answer for the future!!! If I can go back to early 2000s I will buy every single Pepsi I can get my hand on

Few years down the road we will wish to come back to 2018 to Buy all the hulks, blnr, JC and subs we can get our hands on!

At the end of the day Buy what you like when you like it and can afford it!

I bought mine brand new with the stickers on this forum. Even had to put my name on the warranty card. Purchased for $8500 about a year ago. Now I see them for upwards $10,000. I don’t really care how much it’s worth now. I bought it to wear and keep.

If you buy new at MSRP or below, I don't see any downside.

Easier said then done, I haven't seen one here in Texas since last year...

Dealers will more than likely slowly get more stock in the near future, so I wouldn't pay insane grey market prices.

Just go to your local AD's and put your name on the waiting list.

I am on a list for one now. Not sure if it the list though. I asked very politely if they could tell me the length of the list. I did not mind the run arround. Did mine listening to the salesman bitching about the customer who asked how long the wait was as the reciever was falling. Highly suspect I am on the shut up list and will never hear from them. I have a time limit, will go gray if they can not make it.

Right now gray does not seem that bad if you want the watch. 8.5 plus tax (9.2) and you might get one somday vs 10.2 and you will have it next week. Plus I want something now, so that 1k savings is actually buying twice and spending significantly more
—-
Only reason I am on the list rather than already gray is the bet on a action upgrade before my name comes up. If I don’t buy twice before Bezelworld I will go gray then if there is no change

The sooner you buy, the less its gonna cost. The LVC will never get cheaper as they are only going up as waiting list get longer. What is your time worth waiting for the watch you want?

I payed a premium over rrp for mine. 8500 sterling. Bnib. I was waiting nearly 1 year in Irish AD waiting list just got fed up waiting and then the shortage only got worse since compounded with the possibility of discontinuation I decided to pay the premium to have my grail piece.

Retail only. The inflated prices are ridiculous and not worth it. All based on speculation. Don’t get sucked into the hype. The watch has been around since 2010. I highly doubt it will be discontinued. We’re just a month away from finding out.

If it stays in production (which it likely will) the "discontinuation hysteria" will settle down and trusted seller prices will be forced to come back to reality. Who is going to pay 10,500, 11,000 and up when AD's will still be 9050?

Just a thought. The DaytonaC has an RRP of just over £9k. It’s now listed in grey dealers for over £17k. As ADs have zero stock and now waiting lists are ridiculous on anything SS there’s nothing to stop the hulk doing the same. So expect to see greys continuing to rise as they have done on a daily basis over the past few months. Buy now! Within a fortnight you’ll see hulks listed at over £10k bnib.

I took a look at the Rolex Watches For Sale Forum tonight and went back to the pages from 2008. If you want to know how this situation will likely play out, have a look at Pepsi, Coke and especially Kermit prices from that period. It's sick. Now for the ten millionth time we can say 'watches are not an investment ' and that statement for most is 100% true. However, smart, unemotional collectors and buyers have done very well purchasing Rolex wisely over the years.

That said, if the OP is simply suffering from fear of missing out, I would take a pass and get something you love. I have The Hulk and quite frankly, it is a true pleasure every time I look at it. It will rise in price over time, but over that time I will have many hours of enjoyment having it on my wrist. If you think you'll feel the same, buy it.
