Unless you are a trusted or very experienced it will be difficult to get the prices we see on this and other forums. That needs to be factored in when one decides to sell or flip a watch.

With a forum filled with people that care about the best deal they can get, it makes little sense.

And those saying watches should be worn for enjoyment, please, give it a rest already.

No one is sitting in their house saying “gee, I wonder what my next investment should be. I know, watches”.

No. People that ask these questions also like watches!! People are simply trying to protect their money and maybe feel good the potential for a future value. And they ate trying to make an informed decision so they come to a watch forum and ask.

Nothing wrong with that folks.

And not everyone spends hours here so they don’t know the trending questions. Let’s be a bit more neighborly eh? If you don’t like the topic, move on.

Lastly, let’s be real, the cost of Rolex watches keeps going up. Some, you just can’t get. It is not unreasonable to hope what you are buying will appreciate in value.

OP, it’s a great watch. And with just the touch of blue, it doesn’t clash with much. The red of a Coke most certainly will. A SS Coke will be a huge hit. Huge. But I don’t think it’ll effect the blnr one bit.

Just my own opinion.
I love this post! My thoughts exactly. Why do some people think topics here should always follow their narrow vision for what the Rolex Forum should be?
I have only been here a few months but I love reading the varied opinions, topics here....even the ones that have been discussed a lot.

Yeah, I mainly wanted to see if you guys think now is a good time to buy. I’ve lost money on almost every single watch I’ve resold... but the joy I got out of wearing them was well worth it. If I don’t keep the BLNR for more than a few years I’m expecting to lose 10-20% of the purchase price. I guess if I’m paying over MSRP I can expect to lose even more. Got put on a waitlist at my local AD, but who knows how long that’ll take.

Call DavidSW.

He can likely help you get it faster.

I found someone on another forum selling one BNIB for $9500. I mean if I bought one from an AD at full MSRP plus tax I’m looking at more than that.

Apologies for my former irritable response.
It’s just my opinion but I don’t think there’s a good or bad time to buy a BLNR as long as you manage to get one for MSRP. I was under the impression that more and more of them are showing up outside the UK but tough to find in London certainly.
By way of illustration I bought mine for £5950 in Feb 2015, got fed up with it after 18 months and flipped it for £6000 in September 2016. So I had lost nothing and gained effectively nothing, like having an ISA on my wrist that I cashed in.
But I stick to my guns regarding my frustrations with the hypothetical and mystical COKE SS. None of us know. Either whether Rolex will release one, or whether if they did it would effect future value of BLNRs. My suspicion for what it’s worth is no they won’t, and no it won’t.

Yeah, spoke to DavidSW he can get me BNIB within a weeks time. Would rather do business with him since we’ve done so many transactions together. Kinda a shame I’ll never have a relationship with an AD, but it doesn’t seem anyone wants my first watch to buy from them to be a SS Rolex... which is all I’ll probably ever buy.

and 2) even if it does happen it doesn’t mean for one second they’ll discontinue one of the biggest sellers in recent history and
3) if you mean make-you-loads-of-money investment then no, but if you mean don’t-lose-you-any-money safe investment then yes.

Too much common sense here.
