Depends on the leather, could be a sporty perforated calf leather racing strap or a classy crocodile strap.

The oyster strap could be sporty but also know some leather strap are shinny and that could make it more sporty

Just like u said mate...leather more dressy and classy...rubber is more sporty and to the uneducated, will look cheaper...but both are lovely
