Sorry to hear of your watch problems. Doesn't sound right at all. Something perhaps is sticking or broken internally preventing the main spring from being wound. Shaking the watch might aggrevate the situation even more and perhaps damage something else such as the delicate hair spring. Forcing things is never a good idea on such an expensive movement. Don't over think it, just send your BLNR off to your RSC for warranty service. Good luck. Cheers!

A totally unwarranted response.

Rolex watches are made by humans and have an excellent warranty.

Your comments are ridiculous.

Meaning, I unscrew it, it pops out to the first position, and then if you turn it there is no "tick tick tick" while it's winding, it just spins. I can pull it out to 2 and 3 to set the time/date/etc., but no matter how many times I push it back, it won't wind.

It's just been sitting in its box on my desk for two weeks. Is there some reason it should have gotten like this? I hate to send it in for service when it's only 3 months old. Never had this happen before.
Sorry to hear, send it to RSC as others already said

I have some watches that take a lot of winds to get going. I have some that start moving by picking them up (read Patek!). I have none that I cannot “feel” when manually wound.

Same here. My Pepsi GMT takes some turns to get going and there is little feel to process. My Vacheron Overseas starts immediately - and the feel of winding it is truly sublime fwiw.
