Icon20 Submariner 16613 blue dial

Since I saw the first Rolex Submariner blu dial I got mesmerized I and I set a goal of owning one of them. I am at the stage of buying a pre owned, But I have some questions< how many blue dials are? I 've seen pictures with different kind of blue? Why some submariners looking exactly the same have a price difference? But most important, which internet rolex
sellers are recommended? or just by chance because I'm visiting Washington DC in mid september, is there reliable rolex preowned sellers?

Thanks

Hello William!!
Welcome to TRF, and wish you to enjoy it so much.
I suggest you to introduce yourself to the Forum, in the corresponding section, so you´ll be known by other members.

I agree with you that the blue color and sundburts effect of the 16613 dial is awesome and unique.
As a matter of fact, I bought one brand new copy at beginning of this year at my favorite local AD, as it was the last one available there, and the model is no longer in production.
I don´t like the new blue of the present model Sub, and prefer the old deep blue of 16613.

In theroy, the blue dial is always same color, but in practice, several slight differences are detected from batch to batch

Some time ago, here at TRF there was a survey of this matter, though of course it is very difficult to get the true color of a dial, in a picture, due to lightning differences, light balance, camera brand, etc.

Anyway, you might be interested in reading and watching so many contributions of members of this Forum.

By the way, here is mine:

Hope this information helps you, and I hope to see the pciture of your own watch soon!
Cordial regards, Abel.

Thanks!

Well if this is the place, I'm a professional guy from Puerto Rico that has reached to a point that WANTS to own very shortly a rolex submariner 16613. Its not a matter of money its a matter of buying an original piece, well is also about money. If anyone of you can recommend any seller from here, please do so. If you are a seller, do you ship to Puerto Rico. Please consider that shipping to Puerto Rico is the same as shipping to New York.

William:
Welcome again.
No, I´m not a seller, just a Rolex fan owner and user.
Can´t help to find a seller either, as I´m very far south in Argentina.
I suggest you to post your enquires in the general part of this Forum: Rolex General Discussion, where most people will see your post, better than here, which is a secondary forum with other type of posts and information.

Also, you can check in the Forum related with For Sale items, buy I suggest you start making the usual presentations in the general Forum.
You may read a little first, participate too, and will learn a lot about Rolex, before taking the plunge.

By the way, you will get to know that there are several forum members which deal with watches, selling and buying, and could help you in your search.

Best cordial regards, Abel.

William,I'm also from PR,residing currently in Florida.
I went to Vegas in january and put my 16613 close to the new ceramic bezel and the difference was incredible! My "bluesy" is from '05 and the one I saw in Vegas was a '10,by far mine was a lot better looking, even the salesman told me so!!

Thanks fellows:

I hope I can do a good business around here and get my 16613. I asked before why some models has the ROLEX engraved in the around the inner dial and others do not? Was this added for authenticity??

I'm not sure when Rolex started engraving the rehaut, but it does look good and adds another dimension to the piece, IMO

Late in the Z serial is the general agreement for the Sub,so '06/'07.....
It just added another dimension to the looks, and in part, made it that much more harder to duplicate..

Hello Williams!! I guess we were talking about the blue dial of the old model 16613, which is our of production now (TT Sub - gold and stainless blue dial)

The reference 116613 refers to the new model, which got a new shade of blue, totaly different lighter and more "pastel" like.
You may check this before buying!

Kind regards, Abel

Bluesy is really growing on me, the only issue is that I already have a 16610 which I kind of feel is more of a Classic Sub colour (not to say that the Bluesy isn't a classic in its own right also), however I don't know if I could justify owning both Subs - thoughts?

I love my bluesy 16613 Z serial#. First time I saw it back in 2016 in a refurbished condition in my favorite AD, I did not hesitate and bought it. The price was right and now it is my number one watch in my collection. Good luck on your search.
