First Rolex
I've been 'lurking' on this website for a few weeks, and finally got my act together to go to the local AD and buy a Submariner Date.
Imagine my horror when the lovely black bezel version I had seen there only last week had been sold! The options were, a black bezel Submariner without date, a green bezel Submariner with date, a Sea Dweller or a the new GMT. (or go home empty handed) I decide I needed a date, so the plain submariner was out, the green bezel version just wasnt for me, it had to be black, so that got it down to the Sea Dweller or the GMT. In the end I decided the numbers on the bezel on the GMT were a bit too 'in your face' and I coudnt really see the need for a second hour hand:, so the Sea Dweller won the day. The Sea Dweller and the aniversary Submariner were the same price, the GMT about 10% more. It's been for it's first swim already, not quite down to 1200m, but at least it got wet! So, thanks the forum members whose posts helped me understand the subtleties of the Rolex range and the various features. I wont post any pictures as I dont have a camera, and it looks just like any other Sea Dweller on a wrist! |

Congratulations. I hope Mr. Muscle will work for you. Having it flipped after only 3 months I did not do much justice to him. A great piece anyway.

Strap extension
Hi Guys, thanks for the replies, great to know I'm amongst friends!
The SD has not left my wrist since I bought it, and it just looks and feels so right, I should have bought one years ago! One question, I read somewhere on the net how to extend the strap so it fits over a wetsuit, but I cant find the site again and cant figure out how to do it, and it's not in the owner's manual, but I'm sure one of you guys will know how it's done! Thanks in advance for any replies, Rob |
