I guess the sure way would be to buy a M serial. I think all Ms came with 3186. That is if the seller wasn’t trusted.

x2 Ouch. Can I respect how you think and disagree with it at the same time?

So it seems that super minty ones that are a full set start around $14k for asking price. Otherwise people are asking around $9k for ones that show wear/polishing and may or may not come with box and papers.

16710 with 3186 movement questions
https://davidsw.com/product/rolex-16...edblack-bezel/
He has been sitting on that 16710 for quite some time. He recently took it down for a couple days but put it back on his site tonight. Although when it was previously posted it was listed for ~$15,500. Being that he has been sitting on it for quite some time he may be willing to negotiate. Let us know if you pull the trigger. Purchased it with the intention of selling. I've owned that watch many times in the past, it never stayed a keeper. At this point I would rather buy an older one for under $4000. There was an F serial for sale on the forum earlier for under $4000

I'd probably rather have the 3185 version, regardless of so-called collectibility. |

16710 with 3186 movement questions
Quote:
No it doesn’t “seem” like an awful lot. It IS an awful lot. But you started this thread because thats what you wanted. And thats what they go for. You gotta pay to play. But DavidSW is probably THE best person to buy it from in terms of reputation. Buy it from Joe Schmoe for $14,000 and potentially run into a problem that he cares nothing about. Or buy it from DavidSw for $14,975 and get a potential problem taken care of because he encouraged to do so because of his “reputation.” It could be worse than $14,975: http://www.sdwatches.com/product/rol...710-coke-3186/ (And that 1 is a Z serial and not an M like the 1 DavidSw has.) I say if the 3186 is really what you want then get that 1 from DavidSW. Me personally I would rather have a great condition D or Z serial. And if I had a Z serial I wouldn’t pay the 3186 premium. I’d be happy with a 3185. I actually have a D serial that I purchased from DavidSW. And I couldn’t be happier with it. (When it gets back from RSC that is.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I remember those. Time will tell as to whether it's a one time only cure. 3185 for the win until then.

Yea I’ve purchased from him before. Couldn’t have been happier with him. Top notch. Just surprised at the price difference between a 3185 and 3186. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
