I actually like the colour on the Rolex website. Needs to see it IRL.

All the craziness over the SS Pepsi took some thunder from it.

Esthetically, I think it is better than BLRO (and I own the WG one).

One of the youtube videos in German kept referring to it as "cappuccino," which seems to be closest to the actual color.

A BROWN Rolex!?.......nah.
Some will love it, but it will become a relatively
rare piece, a 'collectors item', almost a curiosity, like the previous iteration.

While we're choosing 'potty' sobriquet......

Definately, definately, ...........the 'Light and Bitter"
Or........the 'Pint of Chiswick'.........
(Well, you lot started this minor insanity!)

Upon release it was hard to form an objective opinion on the new GMT's as, of course, all the hype made me believe I needed the Pepsi. However, in the time elapsed since the new models' inauguration, my disdain for the Pepsi has grown-- imo, bezel colour is awful, jubilee is a no-go, and it looks overall cheap to me-- while my fondness for the TT Rootbeer has grown tremendously. I am very close to putting my name down for one- I was quoted October delivery (while Pepsi is @ 5+ years LOL). IMO, a major hit from Rolex.

We certainly can't have that, not after disgraced Ant from Ant and Dec was drunk and driving and he's from Chiswick!

As for Brown the same was said of the Platona initially and that became a forum darling once members started buying them so the same will happen here if the colours are half decent.

I don't get it. I've talked to a couple of ADsand they both concurred the original root beer was a terrible seller. I understand some like this others like that, i.e. Some like the hulk some don't, some like YG some don't. That's all well and good. But, I still don't understand a "remake" of a less popular piece. That brown is so......well, brown.

It’s avoided the limelight because of the new stainless steel Pepsi but I’m not a fan all the same.

He's a Geordie refugee, he just resides in W4.

As for the BROWN bezel on the Daytona,........nah.
The colours just don't work for me. JMHO.

These 'odd' Cerachrom shades, almost appear like they
are the nearest Rolex could get to a target colour and they've
settled for, IMHO, mediocrity.
I will too, probably, sad to say.
I won't wait for them to get the new GMT-C
bezel in the proper hue(s). I'll probably buy one despite my
reticence towards the pale Raspberry and Blueberry. It's OK I suppose,
but not perfect.
My current GMT- Coke, IS perfect, for me, so I'll keep it.
Rolex must know what people have been clammering for, but just
can't or won't give us the 'proper' GMT red -blue combination.
So, like their Cerachrom alchemists I will 'settle' for their 'close enough
for Jazz' offering.
I will still own 'the real thing' though.

In fairness to Rolex it is well documented that it is very hard, and now seemingly impossible, to get a vibrant two primary colour ceramic insert without some leakage. I know it looks blue and red some of the time and sometimes not, but then you can say the black insert looks grey in certain light too. So buy it and enjoy it.

Thanks, original it was a root beer but the bezel insert deteriorated heavily with the salt water diving so I made the decision to change it to black. This was done by RSC in NYC. The oyster bracelet was installed shortly afterwards when the TT jubilee was to stretched to repair.

I found this image in a post on the forum and if it is truly a side view of the BLRO bezel insert it might explain a bit. It appears that the base color for the insert is Red colored ceramic to which the blue is added last. I would think that dependent on the lighting the penetration of the blue could go into the red causing the red color to mix with the blue causing the apparent violet color frequently seen.

If it was a case of just bleeding, then one colour, the original, should be a clear red or blue and then just the added colour will be unclear/mixed. But as both blue and red are off at times I think both colours had to be changed before they are mixed just to get this close.

among the the Rolex Basel releases this year by Rolex, I found the "root beers" to be the dark horse and more of a "surprise" than the Pepsi Steel on Jubilee... Felt the Full Rose gold "root beer" to be the nicer of the two... will probably have to see it in metal to see if its really as nice what the photos suggest..

Personally, following much thought and brainstorming I feel the correct name for the watch is the Coke Beer!!!!
