Sky Dweller?? To pull trigger or not...
My AD has a 2 tone Sky Dweller with white face in stock. I am tempted to get it, but was leaning towards Stainless with blue face. My AD had no idea when that model would be available. I'm relatively new to the Rolex world, but find it curious that stainless is preferred over 2 tone. I guess its price point to some extent? Anyway, any advice guys/gals?

Rolex has a long history of SS having far more popularity and demand over TT and full gold pieces.
To a certain extent, yes the origins of this might be the price point, but now it is just the norm. Since you're new to the Rolex world, it's understandable you're not aware of this, but stick around here for a little while and you'll see there is some global hysteria regarding SS Sports watch shortages. Currently, the SS Daytona and SS Sky-D are probably the hottest watches on the market. They are demanding ridiculous premiums. There are others as well, but IMO those two are the front running watches in highest demand. Of course when the new Pepsi GMT hits the shelves that will be right there in the mix as well. As far as TT goes, they are historically considered to be "discount" pieces. Not only is it good to keep that in mind when buying, but also in the event you ever want/need to sell. The general TRF rule is to buy the watch you want the most, regardless of material or what others like. The TT Sky-D is a fine choice, but it seems to be readily available, and if you buy new from an AD, chances are you will take a hit on it in the event you sell. |

I, of course, believe that you should get what YOU want. That said, you have two excellent stainless steel pieces. A two-tone white dial SD is exactly the piece I would acquire next. Personally, I think pieces like the SD and YM2 (which have a more upscale feel to them) are best in precious metal or two-tone.

Get what you want, not what they have right now.

That said, I think two tone looks great especially with certain dial configurations. It’s definitely a mature look. While people under 30 can wear them, they’re more appropriate for those over 30.

I agree with what others have said; if you love the watch buy it. If not let it go. If buying it keep in mind potential discounts that might be given on them down the road and negotiate thus.

I agree that the TT version is a real looker. But, if I wanted one, I would contact a TS. If you pay MSRP for that thing, you're gonna get hosed.

Definetly get what speaks to you and don’t pay any attention to the hype!
I personally love the TT white face. To me it’s the best skyD (but that’s me) The blue is beautiful but with two other dark dial watches in ss, consider the TT skyD which btw you should be able to get for a decent discount, making it much less than what the blue ss goes for in grey market
