Watch: me go broke!

What's the safest way to ship a watch internationally?

Have a few watches for sale and tons of international interest, however, I don't have an EIN - I believe Parcel Pro requires this... To safely ship and insure a watch internationally, is there another way to go about this?

TIA for any advice!

UPS. Insurance is $1 per $100 value. If I remember correctly, you can insure up to $50,000. Requires valid US Passport number for export documentation. Easiest way to do it is to take it to the UPS store where they complete and print out the documents for you to sign. Good Luck!

UPS fine print only covers watches up to $500 or $1,000 IIRC.

The only way I have found to do this is ParcelPro. FedEx and UPS will take your money for insurance, but the small print puts quite low limits on the amounts that they will actually insure when sending watches and jewellery.

Signing up for a ParcelPro account was easy and, when I purchase watches from individuals overseas, I send the seller a shipping label

They told me I need an EIN.

This may be a US-only requirement. You could ask the purchaser to sign up for ParcelPro and then rebate the shipping cost from the price (that’s how I ended up signing up...and am delighted that I did!)
