you really don't need to do anything special...

just simple soap and water....

or i just shower with mine (because i work out with some of my watches) and rinse with whatever liquid soap there is.

I wear my watch when I shower so I clean it then with Ivory soap and of course and hot water. Seems work to work just fine.

A good simple soap without moisturizer or perfume is all you need. I believe you fellas have Ivory bar soap in the UK. That works great.

Doesn't sound like an alternative to proper cleaning. More like a quick solution whilst getting dressed for the office. I wouldn't do this to my car and it cost less than my watch. Sceptical about all these watch cleaning products myself. Some have different solutions, brushes, cloths and sponges and stuff.

Just go down to 25/30 meters - sweetwater, saltwater anyway
Be careful in muddy german lakes, when you get out from diving - it could have more stuff on it, than before!
But anyway - it‘s a divers watch!

Would like to know what would you guys recommend for cleaning your subc?
I have read about some soap in the US but i need something you can acquire in the uk?
What are your methods?
Soap type?
Hot/cald water?
Thanks all
If you're asking this about SS you'll be screwed when you get that RG Daytona

Seriously, people massively over think this. I use whatever body wash is in the shower and give it a good rinse under the shower head immediately afterwards. Never had any issues with any additives causing a film, and Mrs DD ensures there are some fancy (read - expensive) body washes in there.

Do it regularly and the watch never gets that dirty.

The one thing I would never use (in the UK) is fairy liquid. That stuff is brutal. You're cleaning a watch - not a roasting tray or engine parts.

If you have a watch with polished links (like the GMT or Omega AT) is a soft bristle brush ok to use? I'm very nervous about ruining that finish (already got a few dings from daily wear).

I wouldn't. If the PCLs get swirl marks from contact with clothing, then a brush will do the same (unless its super soft)

So using a liquid designed for cleaning dishes is more thorough? If you tried Wristclean you'd understand. This stuff just works. Iv'e used Dawn in the past...it's not even close.

I spray it on and let it set for a minute, work it in and than rinse it off.

Like someone else stated: If you tried it there is no comparison.

Why don't you just put it in the dishwasher?

I think he means that just spraying something on rinsing it off, doesnt sound like it's getting the type of cleaning that you would achieve with a toothbrush to scrub out all the crevices.

This will probably be the next thing from Rolex. Waiting list of 2 years to acquire Rolex watch cleaning soap. £500 for 20ml.

I use and really like the Wristclean product Peter.

As well as cleaning up watches it makes a great job of my glasses and m/cycle helmet visors etc.

When i ordered my last two bottles they included 4 very large watch clothes and they are also a nice item.

I just rinse my watch with filtered water then dry it with a microfiber cloth.
