Megan's all Malaysian affair on the BP FF on the sail-canvas strap with the deployant buckle

The blancpain is miles ahead in terms of fine details, finish, bezel. The strap (or bracelet) is good but not that far ahead.
I find the blancpain more elegant and more exclusive.
If i had no rolex, i would go sub. With your collection, i would go ff.

Amazing pictures - thank you for sharing.
Honestly, even from the pictures you can see the quality clearly.

Either one though I'd by from a trusted seller. These seem to take a big hit with depreciation.
Slightly obsessed with the black ceramic Bathyscaphe at the moment. They're far, far more utilitarian/industrial in their design than the FF though. And that's part of the charm... such as coating the 18k gold rotor with a matt platinum alloy.

As to the OP, definitely the FF given his other watches. It's a stunning piece, in terms of design, heritage and finish. It also doesn't suffer from the Subs ever so slightly dodgy image, and I say that as someone who'll be first in line if Rolex bring out a ceramic Sub with slimmer lugs.

Great decision, I would get it on the bracelet if you can, it balances out the watch better I feel, not a huge fan of the sailcloth, that's where the Subc and glidelock really win.

I have always thought the FF was a cool watch with a cool history. I wish it was a bit smaller like the original ones. If it sings to you go for it!

Definitely go for the Blancpain if the after sale value is not an issue

Blancpain FF 5015 vs Submariner

You’ve already got a LV, go for the FF.

I own both watches, Fifty Fathoms and D-Blue.
Both amazing time pieces, but D-Blue gets waaay more writs time than FF.
So between both, I would go with D-Blue 116660

I have been doing a lot of research and yes, the Blancpain FF was released 1 year before the Submariner came out.
Reading several forums, they mentioned Rolex was already testing the Submariner but a lot of the final design (including the rotating bezel) was token for the Blancpain FF.

Like I said, I tried it while having my SD43 and it the Blancpain felt much special to me.
The Rolex Turn O Graph which came out one year before the FF and Sub. I would say the Sub was based on the TOG. So really who was first? Not that it matters, this sub design became the icon.....

I really like the Blancpain but I'm not getting one until they come out with a 40mm one without a stupid date at 4:30.

OP, go with what you love and read real reviews (there are some on YouTube and sites like Hodinkee). Also, if the 45mm is too large, try to find the tribute to mil-spec at 40mm. I've tried on that watch and it's unbelievable, the quality, heft and finish are second to none.
Exactly. Most people on here would pick a sub vs anything.

The FF is remarkable.
